How to Cut Selected Moments from a Video Podcast

Turn chosen podcast timestamps into separate video files while keeping each question, answer, and reaction understandable.

Choose the moments before opening the editor

Use the episode notes or transcript to list moments with a clear reason to exist. A useful list can include the guest's definition, a disagreement, a worked example, and the final recommendation. Record rough source timestamps beside each item.

VideoMultiCut does not select highlights or judge which moment will perform well. It turns choices you have already made into separate video files.

Keep the setup that makes the answer work

Start with the host's question when the guest opens with 'yes,' 'that,' or another reference to earlier speech. End after the complete answer and any reaction that changes its meaning.

A shorter clip is not automatically clearer. Remove unrelated setup, repeated wording, and long pauses only when the remaining range still represents what the speaker said.

Use names that support the next production step

Name clips by idea instead of episode position. remote-work-boundaries and pricing-mistake are easier to hand to an editor than clip-03 and clip-04. Keep the episode number in the base name when the team handles several shows.

Export the selected ranges as a ZIP for handoff. The files remain separate, so a caption editor or social producer can work on one without opening a full episode timeline.

Finish social production in another editor

VideoMultiCut does not reframe speakers, generate captions, add a title card, remove filler words, or mix a new soundtrack. Use it for the extraction step, then use a production editor for the presentation required by the destination.

Check the downloaded file before handing it off. Confirm both speakers are visible when needed, the sound is synchronized, and the answer has not been changed by the cut.
