# How to Cut a Video Without Uploading It

Use local browser processing for selected video ranges and understand which website requests still use the network.

## Choose a cutter that processes the media locally

VideoMultiCut reads the selected video through the browser and runs export on the device. The source recording and the exported clips are not sent to a VideoMultiCut processing server. This is useful for recordings you do not want to wait to upload before making a few cuts.

Local media processing does not mean the page is offline or makes zero network requests. The browser loads the site and its processing software. Hosting receives ordinary page and asset requests, and optional analytics load only after consent.

## Check what the page measures

VideoMultiCut's analytics events exclude video bytes, filenames, clip names, and file content as event properties. If you accept analytics, the site can measure page views and editing actions. Microsoft Clarity can record page interaction, so confidential text should not be used as a clip name when recordings are enabled.

Rejecting optional analytics leaves the editor usable. The privacy page explains hosting, consent, event categories, and the limits of session-recording masking. Review that policy before using any browser tool for confidential work.

## Run a short local export

Choose the recording, create one short range, and export it. Open the download and check picture and sound. This confirms the browser can decode the source and encode a result on the current device.

Then mark the remaining ranges. Local processing shifts the work to your hardware, so a large or demanding file can still be slow or fail. Individual exports reduce the amount of finished output held for a batch ZIP.

## Protect the exported files too

A local workflow controls the editing step. The downloaded clips still need appropriate storage and sharing. A private meeting clip becomes exposed if it is attached to a public post or stored in a shared folder with broad access.

Keep the original recording until the clips have been checked. Save the exports where you intend to keep them before closing the page, because the current browser session is not a saved project.
